Time to pack up and leave Brittany for LPR. Uneventful road trip but still fairly busy on the roads.

Minding Truffle today as J and EL head back to Ill de Re for lunch with friends. Flashy cooking Tex/Mex beans on request for dinner. Finding at last, the remaining yeast packet, a gluten free ciabatta is planned (EL is now GF). Beans and ciabatta were excellent. Two St Emilion reds didn’t seen to go far.

Flashy and Johnny started the construction of a small dog fence which will be needed when the big concrete wall comes down, then we cooked a whole fish with herbs from the garden on the BBQ and enjoyed a celebratory Champagne, Burgundy Premier Cru Chardonnay and a Grand Vin du Bordeaux Medoc. The Thermomix made an excellent crème brulee and by the time we got to cheese, the BBQ embers were glowing, the red (or was it a blue) moon was visible and it was finally dark.

EL and J have packed up and departed for the UK. So, a lazy day to recover from fairly hectic socialising with EL and J. A trip into Saint Jean d’Angeley to book a hair appointment for Lady P. I bet she doesn’t get a number zero by mistake! While there, we buy the house a new wheelbarrow at the garden shop, as Lady P has in mind to relocate the woodshed. Not today though. A bit of cleaning and a little lie down in the afternoon.

The weather has changed now, as we move towards Autumn, only 11 days away. The nights and mornings are chilly again (13C), but so far, the days remain sunny and warm.
