Sunday 7 Jan 2024
We went to Musee d’Orsay today and
as it was the first Sunday of the month, we got in for free. Very cold though,
today. 3C. We had booked a time to enter, 13h00 and went straight to their café
for lunch. Wonderful again, with quiche and rose wine.
We saw art-mmm. The sculptures by Rodin were pretty good even if he gets the proportion of the feet wrong. Probably deliberately. The impressionists always look like kindergarten art through dirty eye glasses to me. So, ho hum. But the building, well that’s something else. An old train station with amazing interiors. Then you go outside and see the external of the building and you have to admire the investment in public buildings that occurred in the 19th and 20th C.
No art photos and no food pics
today.
Would have loved an art photo - clair
ReplyDeleteI didn't mind the d'Orsay for the first 15mins, it was all a bit the same to me after that... I guess if you're into art its ok?
ReplyDeleteGot a jigsaw puzzle at the gift shop though. Nice Cafe upstairs there.
